Players to Watch in World Cup 2006

Now that the World Cup bound teams have announced their squads, it is time to check out some of the players.
One player that comes readily to mind is Ronaldinho who is set to dominate the tournament. He will be difficult to stop especially with Kaka, Robinho, Adriano and Ronaldo playing alongside him for Brazil.
Argentina have Riquelme who will be a handful to any defence. His team mate, Messi should not be overlooked.
It will be a delight to watch Henry and Zidane play for France.
Michael Ballack will have to carry the German team on his shoulders. How will he cope?
Michael Essien and Didier Drogba are the two African players to watch. Michael Essien was sorely missed in Ghana's Africa Nations Cup campaign and will be determined to help restore Ghana's pride. Drogba is in great form and will be looking sharp in the tournament for Cote D'ivoire.

Teams to Watch in World Cup 2006

This year's World Cup in Germany promises to be an exciting one with great teams and players set to grace the tournament.
I will be looking out for Brazil who look most likely to lift the trophy.
Argentina also have a good team and can go all the way.
Among the European teams, France with Zidane and Henry are capable of great results.
Germany can also use their home advantage to progress.
Ghana and La Cote D'ivoire are the African teams that can cause major upsets.
U.S.A and Australia should also be watched closely.

My Favourite Footballers of all Time

I have always admired skillful players. Diego Maradona always excites me whenever I watch his game even though he has been retired for almost a decade. His footwork is pure magic and his passion for the game especially the World Cup is uncomparable.
I believe that Argentina could not have won the 1986 World Cup without Maradona.
Zinedine Zidane affectionately called Zizou is a naturally gifted player with an extraordinary ability to control the ball. He has been a great asset to the French national team and Real Madrid. I will miss him when he retires after the World Cup.
Ronaldinho is unstoppable. One reason I like him so much is that he seems to enjoy his game. It is almost as if he would play football for free. I like his passion for the game. He is the type of player the game needs. He is the major reason Brazil look like they will retain the World Cup trophy in Germany.

Arsenal Sail Through to Champions League Final

Arsenal resiliently defended their one goal advantage from last week's first leg Champions League semi-final against Villareal to qualify for the final in Paris.
Villareal pressured Arsenal most of the time and were awarded a penalty just two minutes to the end.
The penalty by Riquelme was however saved by Jens Lehmann.
The match ended goaless and 0:1 aggregate in Arsenal's favour.
Arsenal thus become the first London club to for the UEFA Champions League Final ever.
They will play Barcelona in Paris on May 17th.
Barcelona impressively knocked out AC Milan 1:0 on aggregate after playing a goaless game in Nou Camp (Barcelona).

The Significance of Easter Has Been Lost

It is common these days to associate Easter with a long weekend of eating, drinking and having fun.
Here in Britain and across much of Europe, pubs and clubs are expected to be filled to capacity even on Good Friday, the day of Christ's crucifixtion.
In my view, there is nothing wrong with having a good time during Easter but the lesson of Jesus Christ's extraordinary sacrifice should never be forgotten.
So whilst we have fun, we should not forget that Christ sacrificed his life to save us.

Appearances are Deceptive

There is an old African legend about King Sumanguru Kante who executed his brother who was also a king. He went on to execute eleven of his brother's twelve sons.
Sumanguru spared the twelfth son, Sundiata Keita, either because he took pity on the boy or thought it likely he would die anyway.
Sundiata had ailments that crippled him and he was almost always sick when he was young.
Sundiata, however, eventually overcame his physical obstacles and grew into a strong young man.
He then led a revolt against his uncle and his forces routed Sumanguru.
He also went on to rule over a vast empire and became the most feared and respected king of his generation.

Born For A Reason

I have a strong belief that everyone is special .
Everyone is born with a special purpose.
Unfortunately, people tend to doubt their potential to achieve great things when they face everyday problems.
But problems can do one of two things to humans.
It can either strenghthen us or weaken us.
I have come to the realization that, those who have enough self confidence and believe in their potential, see problems as challenges and are driven to overcome whatever problems they might have, hence becoming stronger.
But how do we gain such self confidence?
We gain it by believing that we are special and that we are born for a special reason.

The Benefits of Reading

The habit of reading has made a wonderful impact on my life.
Reading newspapers, magazines and online articles keep me abreast with the times.
Novels and other works of fiction have provided me with insights about human behaviour and character.
Non-fiction works especially self improvement books have greatly helped me to live up to my potential.
Books in general have given me great knowledge and insight.
Not to mention other reading materials like leaflets, pamphlets, etc.
Reading I dare say is one of the most beneficial hobbies one can have.

Planning Your Life

I have always considered old sayings as old sayings until I heard this one:
'He who fails to plan, plans to fail.'
This statement encouraged me to take planning more seriously.
Whenever there is something to accomplish, it is important to plan if only to know what needs to be done to reach set targets.
And the best plans are always written.
This is true because it is always easy to refer to written plans to make sure nothing important is forgotten.
So next time you have to do something, try writing it down. It might change your life.

Hip-hop Music

I think hip-hop music owes a lot to the beat makers. Most of the best-selling hip-hop songs are those with great beats. Even the best lyrics would not sell if the beat is not very good.

UK rapper Sway's single 'Flo fashion' taken from his debut album, 'This is my demo' is receiving heavy airplay on MTV Base and has been critically acclaimed. This is rare because his album was released independently and not under a major record label. Sway is British with Ghanaian ancestory.

STEPS

No matter how unattainable our dreams seem, we can succeed in life if we take steps that are required of us.
Ghana has been drawn in a tough group in the upcoming World Cup finals in Germany.Ghana's Group E includes Italy, USA and Czech Republic.

Can Anyone Stop Ronaldinho?
Ronaldinho has been named the world's best soccer player for the second year running. His Barcelona team mate Samuel Eto has also been named Africa's best player for the third time in a row.

Egypt win the African Cup of Nations for a record five times.
I think the world would be a better place if people helped each other instead of criticizing people in unfortunate situations.People should live and let live. That does not mean we should condone wrongdoing. All it means is that we should respect the rights of others whilst trying to help whoever we can.
LIFE IS TIME
I wish to welcome you to the home of the intelligent. Let us share ideas on how to make the world a better place.

HAPPINESS
Happiness is what you have whenyou are honest with yourself. Accepting yourself whilst trying to improve your quality of life.
