Italy have beaten France on penalties to win this years World Cup. I am impressed with Italy because they managed to win the World Cup despite the allegations of match fixing facing four top teams in their domestic league.
I however feel sorry for Zidane because of the way his World Cup ended.

Apart from Zidane who made my day in the whole tournament, one other player who made a huge impression was Pirlo. He is an efficient ball distributer and knows how to dictate the pace of the game. He frustrated the Germans in midfied and did the same to the French. His fortune like Zidane's hangs in the balance because of the match fixing scandal that has rocked the Italian league.
