Appearances are Deceptive

There is an old African legend about King Sumanguru Kante who executed his brother who was also a king. He went on to execute eleven of his brother's twelve sons.
Sumanguru spared the twelfth son, Sundiata Keita, either because he took pity on the boy or thought it likely he would die anyway.
Sundiata had ailments that crippled him and he was almost always sick when he was young.
Sundiata, however, eventually overcame his physical obstacles and grew into a strong young man.
He then led a revolt against his uncle and his forces routed Sumanguru.
He also went on to rule over a vast empire and became the most feared and respected king of his generation.
